Wisdom of Trees top finished

After piecing the background, I put blue tape diagonally across the top at 1in intervals. Then I sprayed it with bleach. After 2 min I washed it out. I think I went a little too long, This will take some practice, but I hope you can see the sun rays coming through. Still exploring printing. This time the tree prints were done from black and white photo transfer with Citrosolv.

4 Common Corners Artists at the Loveland Public Library

As part of our great adventure of finding places to show our work, Shannon entered us in the call that went out last fall from the Loveland Public Library. And that was just the beginning of the fun ---- they liked some of our pieces ---- but here things got murky ---- they would only accept for display those of us that actually lived in Colorado (in truth, their call for entry could be a bit clearer on this point!) So, Betty sent the two pieces to me and I delivered them to the library, where they will continue to hang until September 29. Yesterday I was in Loveland for a meeting, so I went into the library and took pictures of Sandra's piece (top) and mine. They are inside glass cases, which is wonderful for keeping them clean and "un-mauled", but not so great for getting good photos! Wanted to share them with you all anyway. When the pieces come down the end of the month, I'll go fetch them and send them on to the next place they need to go. Bev

the needle turn applique of the background is complete and the silk is on -- ready for the machine stitching the railroad tracks and the big spikes of sorghum have been constructed on a paper backing on to the machine stitching then putting it all together Bev
