Our new house is partially heated by this outdoor wood-burning furnace. The fire heats water in pipes which then runs to the house. Additionally we have a more universal type furnace in the event we choose not to stoke the outside heater. That will NEVER be my job. The former owner heated exclusively with the furnace for many years and if they were away for any length of time in the winter they had to get someone to stoke it several times a day. The realtor explained that wasn't really a positive selling point so a regular furnace was installed. |
Diana, this is so cool! I love your piece, especially the cracks and open spaces in the logs. And the colors are great, especially the pinky browns that add some nice color depth. And what a cool story/inspiration! Do you get hot water for showering and stuff from the same wood-fired heater system?
