Progress: Wisdom of Trees

Frances Murphy

After several dead ends, I finally got the design for "Wisdom of Trees".  I started with a design that I had previously created in Art Rage on my iPad.  I downloaded the design to a website called rapidresizer.com, where I can easily resize it to 40" x 30".  Then I printed the enlarged design, highlighted the lines with a magic marker, numbered all of the pieces (about 130).  Next I will cut out all of the pieces, apply fusible and assemble the quilt.  I'll free-motion quilt and a month from now, it should be beautiful and complete.  The color of the enlarged drawing will not be the color of the finished quilt.  The colors will also be somewhat different from my original Art Rage drawing.

As I work on this quilt, I'm listening to the audiobook of Stephen King's "The Stand".  It is very appropriate for our times.

  1. I love the bright colors in the second drawing, I hope you go that direction! And I never read any Steven King until the middle of last year when I jumped in with the Stand. I enjoyed it, but you're right about how timely it seems now.....
